Ok, I've read on here that tinned dog food isn't very good for dogs?? Alfie won't eat complete - we've tried a few brands but he's not interested.

We've been giving them Pedigree better by nature, they love it and it looks quite nice - what are your opinions on it??

Also - what am i supposed to feed it with?? On it's own, mixed with complete or mixed with mixer??

ideally fed with a mixer, better wet foods are nature's menu, naturediet and forthglade, or have you checked out frozen raw foods??

LOL sounds like he has 'trained' you beautifully!!!! My dad actually believes the my JRT won't eat just dry food and ' needs ' dog meat and a bonio on the top!!!

Funnily enough he happily eat just dry food if I feed him, but then he knows he will get nothing else. When I went on holiday he also trained my friend to feed him only dog treats and bacon and flatly refused to his his normal dog food that I had left for him. Be strong he is taking the pee.......is he a terrier by any chance??

No idear if you should do it or not but we used to pour weak gravey on dry food with fussy eaters, worked a treat

Try Forthglade or naturediet with a mixer like Laughing Dog mixer.

These are all supposed to be good quality

Although there are good quality dry foods available too - like burns or I think there is a new one called land of holistic pets? I think James Well beloved is also meant to be good.

I also read about a new wet food called Applaws - which also sounds good (and looks quite good in the pictures too!) but not tried it...

Mine have Nature Diet, I think it has less crap in it than a lot of canned meats; it was a total godsend when the youngest had colitis as a pup....I was at my wit's end, all he could stomach was poached cod & white rice, he looked like a hat rack. Discovered Nature Diet fish variety, and v.slowly weened him onto their other varieties over several months. I seriously think without it he'd have wasted away.
Also, IMO, you may manage to reduce excessive 'bad' behaviour on it as it hasn't got all the naughty-causing additives & extras that a lot of dog food has. (mind you, if it's a pup you'd be worried if there wasn't a bit of good old fashioned naughtiness

Stinks a bit tho

ETA, I personally wouldn't give my dogs Pedigree, or many of the others on supermarket shelves, it's a long time since I actually read one of their labels, but I remember not liking the sound of some of the ingredients last time I did.
