alfa A and alfa A Oil

have changed feed to the oil version as poor horsey losing some weight recently. but now he has started leaving some in the bottom of his bucket which is annoying as he's to eat more not less.

is he leaving it because: 1.he doesnt like it or 2.it's so filling cos of the oil (like having a big fry up!)?

anyone else had similar problem?

it's mixed with happychaff which he eats all up!

yeah ive just found the same thing except mine was from mollichop

he doesnt leave anyting but he will wander round his stable occasionaly or get easily distracted and this just isnt him! you would have thought he was starved before hand at the rate he shovelled his food down!

i thought it was becase he prefered the mollichop so added some garlic to it...it helped slightly

though its strange in your case as i wouldnt have thought alpha a and alpha a oil were that much different?

) may try crushing some garlic in as suggested, he also left some carrots in his playball last night so maybe is just generally unsettled at the moment
 
Ive just changed my gelding onto alfa-oil and he dosent like it either!im having to introduce it really really gradually, he now eats about a handful of it in his feed. before he was gobbling down the alfa-a original!
 
Just started feeding Alfa A oil this weekend - my horse does the same thing! I cut it down a bit and he ate it all. Must be more filling and I find it takes him longer to eat - must just get a bit bored! Because I have cut it down a bit I feed him extra in the morning (as he comes in then) and leave his bucket with him all day to chew on it as he wants.
 
Sunny doesnt like Alpha-a Oil at all(she leaves alot) and it makes her very very very fizzy (not that it takes much), she is coming off it now as i havnt found that she has gained any weight since i started feeding it and it is just making her impossible to ride. Isnt doing her much good because she leaves so much of it, so im going back to original (I might try adding oil myself and see if that is any better)
