my filly has decided she doesnt like alfa a oil anymore, so ive been recommended alfa beet by the local supplier. has anyone used this to gain condition and how effective has it been? She is fed a balancer and is out 24/7 as of this week on good grazing.

It's pretty much like green slop, a slightly smoother texture than sugarbeet, and neither of mine will eat it as the main meal although they will eat it if it's mixed with something.

Have you tried any other alfalfa product? One of mine won't touch Dengie alfa a or alfa a oil but she will eat TopSpec Top Chop even if I don't put anything with it.

she has been fed, speedibeet, alfa a oil, spillers balancer and linseed oil over winter. I was going to drop the beet and alfa a oil and use alfa beet and balancer and keep giving the oil. The feed merchant said that she will get the same calories in alfa beet as she was getting on the previous feed as its basically the same just combined. Im hoping now the grass is through she will keep improving condition

My underweight but laminitic mare is on Alpha Beet & it has helped put condition on her. I feed mollasses free Hi Fi Alfalfa (by Mollichaff) which is like Fybergy with the AB.

She does like the molasses free hi fi, she sneakily ate her stablemates leftovers this morn! might add that too and see how she gets on. thanks

Absolutley fab stuff, my horse was on it last year when he was very low and little anaemic and gave him a real boost and lots of condition, very paletable too from what I could tell. Along with a balancer and chaff its a good simple diet
