It's very stalky and strong for a foal (assume that's why you're asking!) If I was going to feed a chop, then it would be Graze On by Northern Crop Driers; fabulous old fashioned proper chaff with nothing added, all of mine loved it but wouldn't touch Alfa A.

As already said, Alfa A is the product name for Alfalfa.

Alfa A has molasses added and the Alfa Oil has oil added.

Alfalfa is great for youngsters/foals as its nice and high in calcium, I tend to use the Alfa Oil as I don't like my youngsters to have too much sugar as they are already fed Sugar Beet.

Mine get Alfa Oil, Sugar beet and Suregrow.

No, I wouldnt say they are identical since Alfa-A has added molasses which makes it unsuitable for laminitics etc. But yes, they are both Alfalfa. I've heard Alfa-A is bad for moulding though apparently so they put lots of the mould inhibitor stuff on it... although I cant remember enough about it to say much!
