Ive recently moved from a lovely big farm house with barn, to a much smaller place with no barn... aghhh....

Ive always fed the horses alfalfa, which comes in bales like hay (which is very hard to get here in Spain) now, because im going to have to stack it outside, and cover it, im thinking of feeding alfalfa pellets instead, plus when it does come, I have to stack it on my own, not easy in the heat when there are 250 to stack and they weigh around 25kg per bale.. and the pellets I can have delivered monthly, 40kg sacks.. the horses are also fed straw (so they have something to munch, as no grass here) and barley/oats and Sugar beet.

So does anyone know where I can find out how to compare the two, bales v pellets, a scoop of pellets weighs 2.5kg and 1 slice of alfalfa weighs around 3kg, there is nothing on the bag to say what the nutritional value is but it does look like pure alfalfa..
