Finally got to ride my new boy today. He needed some time off, then I was lame, then he was lame, but today the stars aligned, and off we went!
It still feels weird and emotional, not being on Alf, but Herbs is just lovely. I wasn't expecting much, as I had it in my head that he was a safe steady hunter, and probably didn't have a mouth or much in the way of schooling-but I was wrong. Someone has put some time into him at some point, and he's as nice to ride as he is on the ground.
Happy Aus this evening (although expecting to be very sore tomorrow!)
 
Oh I missed this…how lovely for you I am pleased although it’s odd to see grey neck in front of you lol.
It feels very strange! No ridiculous triple mane either!
What is nicer is that he's right there under my leg. Alf was very slab sided, so I had to work hard to keep my leg on him. Herbs is round (and a bit squidgy!) so very easy to sit on
