I am completely new, invited by a member, but if anyone is interested in anything to do with retriever breeds, please feel free to ask me. I am not hte font of all knowledge, but I do have a lot of contacts so may be able to provide a pointer or two.

A bit about myself, I own chocolate Labradors, and a flat coated retriever, I dabble with gundog training and just enjoy my dogs to the full.

I support Equine Market Watch UK, fabulous charity, and hope to do more for them in the future, time allowing.

I forgot to mention, I raw feed, and have helped a lot of people swap their dogs over, so am happy to answer any questions if I can, or point folk in the right direcition.

Welcome! I used to post on the Gundog Forum yonks ago and think I recognise you from there!

Do you have a horsey 'link'?

The more gundog people the better.....we may even outnumber the GSDs one day!!!:D

Hi, and welcome. :) . can I take you up on your offer of advice. I have two retrievers, one of which has to stay in the vets again tonight and tomorrow night. She has an open wound, cyst that burst, that is resisting anti-biotics. She also has another lump on her side, which came back as cancerous. Vet wasnt overly worried about it, said it will have to be removed but more concerned about the infection. I feel vet isnt telling me everything. Are retrievers prone to cancer, and what is your opinion of her outcome?? Any advice greatly appreciated. xx
