So my hectic week has finished and this is the first time ive sat down at my computer since i returned from Lincoln on thursday!!! Apologies to S_V sorry i didnt reply to your PM, only just checked them - i hope you didnt watch my test, it was horrific!!!!
So first the Talent Spotting........Got there nice and early as we took the other girl from my yard and she was riding in the Pony age group. She didnt get through, but came 3rd and rode really well and got nice remarks which was good.
My test went fine, Bloss was as good as gold as usual. We then did our training which was fine and then swapped horses. I had the most AMAZING horse ive ever sat on - it had a MASSIVE movement and i spent my whole time riding it grinning
extend, collect etc you name it, it did it!! To cut a long story short i came 2nd so didnt get through. i got a 9.5 (all marks out of 10) for Talent & Empathy (so i suppose the winner mustve got 10) and a 9.5 for riding of the other horse!! The two girls that won my section and the section my friend was in were both from the same yard and trained by one of the judges.............work that one out.............
So Tuesday we drove up to Lincoln, got there in 7 hours with a half hour break on the way. Settled Bloss in stable then got on a rode her for about an hour on the two schools. Then rode her wednesday morning too and she was going really well. Came to my test, were trotting fine and going really nicely until this sudden freak gust of wind got up and one of the banners came loose at the end of the arena and she went nuts
nothing i could do but hang on, totally not her fault and i was a bit upset to say the least. i finished the test, but she was really difficult to ride as was then totally on her toes for the rest of it. Ended on 60.16% (about halfway down) VERY dissapointed as i lost 14 marks and wouldve got placed if it hadnt happened. Such is life and it obviously wasnt meant to be
Got a lesson on trainers horse on saturday so im really looking forwards to that as im hoping i mite get the oportunity to compete one of hers.
Hope everyone is well, i feel like ive been away for ages, yet its only been a week!!!!
