Does anyone have any recommendations for boots for my cob? He has huge legs but short canons (he's only 15hh) his o/r boots are xl just to get round his pasterns but I have to cut some of the rubber off the bottom as they're too long at the back

I'm just looking for something with all round protection for xc but everything I've tried that fit his legs are ridiculously too long for him!!

My cob was 16hh and the only boots I could get to (just) fit were the Woof Wear double lock brushing boots for when he went XC. They did the job and I had struggled for ages trying to find something to fit his chunky canon bones!

Hi. I have thorowgood cob brushing boots for my chunky cob. They don't seem to make them any more but if you google them you can pick some up second hand. They are designed specifically for cobs.

Prolite closed tendon boots (large) fitted my 15hh cob until I left them on the mudguard of the trailer and drove off! Not cheap at nearly £60 for the pair :-(

Some makes do medium wide boots for cobs, but they don't fit mine very well.

The thorowgood ones I had for my TB rubbed him which may be why they don't make them anymore.

I'm even worse, my Coblet is 13.3h and extremely short cannon bones, I use woof wear medium wide club boots, even those are still a little too long but the best fit I can find. I too had thorowgood ones which rubbed.

Yes, I would recommend these too...they come in Medium Extra Wide, specially designed for short and chunky cob legs!

I also have the woof wear double lock boots in medium wide but they are the right length for my mares hind legs. Need them to make small wide ones or medium wide extra short!
