For those of you lucky enough to have an all weather gallop, or perhaps work in racing, how do you maintain the surface? I've just taken management of a private yard and the gallop is a bit of a state! We've got a quad and a harrow that we use for the indoor school, will that work? But how do I keep the weeds at bay?! The grass and hedge is taking over!! Many thanks xx

Your quad and harrow will be ok for now, if not always. What surface is the gallop? Your best off giving the manufacturer a ring to see what they recommend.

Harrow before and after every use. Either don't use with snow on top, shovel the snow off or put frost sheets down that can be pulled off with the snow.

Weeds in the gallop - pull them up by hand before you harrow them at all. Trim back the grass and hedge and remove everything off of the gallop. Once you are on top of it they are very easy to maintain.
