All weather turnout/menage

Hi,

I'm looking for some advise please. Looking towards the winter already and I would like to install an all weather turnout/menage. Looking at last weeks horse and hound and I see there are kits that can be purchased which keeps the cost down considerably.

Would anyone be able to offer advise/experiences etc as to the diy kits please?

One thing I wan to say is to think about your fencing. I have just tried to put letters on mine and the middle (B and E) is two thirds of the way along a plank. Why couldn't they have put a post in at each letter marker and filled in from there? After all these are supposed to be purpose built

Do the kits include all of the many tons of materials you need? I've only heard about these kits - probably just the fencing and membrane. The materials (screened brick, stone and your sand surface) is where the money goes and the machinery hire/labour. Are you planning on getting someone in to do it, or do it yourselves? Where are you based as my OH builds arenas? My main piece of advice would be not to cut corners or use low grade materials at all on a sand arena as it will flood in wet weather and be a waste of money!!
