Click on "Progeny" for this mare and view the list!!

Excuse my ignorance but how could one single mare be the dam of that many offspring?????

She is supposed to be the dam of the stallion I have used on my mare this year, but with this number of offspring something seems a bit fishy.

Miraculous, eh! LOL

On a serious note, however, it's rather disappointing that the database can obviously be SO incorrect. Just wonder how many more horses are similarly incorrect. I'll be more wary of trusting what I read on there now.

Thing is, given that you can add horses without any checking being done you could technically create the horse of your dreams and no-one would be any the wiser

There are no checks done to the accuracy of the information provided and retaining the IP address of the computer that added it is practically worthless!

i can say that that mare is definatly not the dam of Cutsdean Centurian his dam was just Diana no numbers after her name she is Polish warmblood and we brought her direct from Poland her sire was Dzalanger and her dam was Pela.

Have no idea who filled that one in but not us.

The numbers after the name are part of the Allbreeds system when there are numerous horses with the same name. It is always worth checking the horses sire/dam to ensure you have the correct horse. I think sometimes when people are adding they are making a guess because not all the information is available when the choices come up. Mind unless you know roughly when they were born or the sire/dam I suppose it is down to guess work!

Well we can completely disregard what the website tells us. Apparently our pure TBs are down on their website as being Anglo Arabs and it says our stallion only has 3 offspring! (Amazing, since he's been covering for the past 8 years!) If anyone really wants to trace back the whole history of their TB, then register with Weatherbys site and do a dam search.

Thanks Lin, I'll try that one for future reference.

Odd that people don't check when adding their horses to Allbreedspedigree website though, isnt it. I'm guessing there are a lot of different mares called "Diana" and no one checks when adding their stock to the system! Daft.

Well, we've just tried this sports horse website, keyed in our TBs (and also our two warmbloods) and nothing appears on it for us, except two TBs with the same name born in the early 1900's.

If you register with them (its free) you can add your horses, plus pictures and video.

Cissi on here is, I believe a moderator for the database, you can always send her a PM.

Your welcome

I think that sometimes people just put down the first horse they see with the correct name and leave it at that without checking.

all breeds is a good resource, but only as good as the people entering the data. I add all my foals on there and I am careful to check I am clicking on the correct sire and dam, as there can be many horses with the same name. Very easy to correct it, if there is a mistake too.
I cant see how people do make such blatent mistakes - its hardly rocket science

I've emailed the allbreedpedigree website and drawn their attention to Diana249 and her absurd offspring list, but not sure what the website managers could do about it.

Guess it's just a reminder to us all, not to believe everything we read online (as if we didn't already know that
