Am currently feeding alisha the bailey's no4 (non-heating) conditioning cubes. However, I have noticed that over the past month she has started to drop off again. My friend suggested trying the calm and condition stuff - has anyone used it? I need something that is non-heating as she is quite a hot-headed mare anyway and she is not in much work due to an injury. Any suggestions?

I Use A&P calm and condition on two of my horses and wow, i love it, used it for years and would never change, it is great, p_G uses it on archie as well and she loves it too. I woul say that the great effects of using it may not show if the horse is not exercising alot, i find greater results when the boys are in full work. I woudl reccomend it!

i used it all winter for my hot headed mare. she dropped quite alot of weight but the calm and condition didnt seem to work. i think you need to supply the exercise with this feed to get the best out of it. but i dont have a school at my yard so riding in the week in the winter is not possible.

Mine is on it now and has been for the last two months while she has been coming back into work after a winter off. I really like it for her, she is a stroppy thing anyway but not nearly as aggressive at feed times as when she was on any other mix/pellets. I think not having molasses in any of her feed has really helped - she's also sweet to work on the flat now whereas before she suffered a bit from ADHD!

Also, despite having no grass at the mo, she is looking really well on it + alfa oil and halage so I am definately sticking to it for now.

yup - big thumbs up from me too... my two Tb's are doing brilliantly on it and also the A&P Ride and Relax mix... its taken me a year of trying different feeds to get here and I wish i had tried C&C much earlier!

ive been using it all winter and TBH it didnt make much difference and i am looking to change it now i have finished the bag. His coat is in fabby condition and his general health is... but weight wise it didnt do much(though he was turned out 11hrs a day so he maybe be losing it faster than putting on)

horse really liked eating it though... he had great fun slopping and slurping it!

Thanks for all your advice, maybe i should keep her on the nuts while bringing her back into work, as most of you seem to suggest they need the work as well. Will reassess her when she is back in full work. Thanks again for all your help
