Was just saying goodbye to my dogs before I left the house for work when I noticed little dogs cheeks were puffed up swollen like a hamster- really swollen!!!!
She seemed fine in herself but taking no chances (swelling bit too close to her throat for comfort) hubbie bundled her into the car and drove her to the vets.
Vet gave her a shot of antihistimine and said she had probably been bitten by some kind of insect or had an allergic reaction to something.
Can't think what could have bitten her to cause such symmetrical swelling? I guess she could have been stung by a wasp but she has been stung before and believe me- the whole street would have known about it the noise she would have made.
No new food, washing powder, or anything else?
V strange... just wondering whether anyone had any similar experiences that might shed some light?
Shes loads better now by the way- the injection seemed to do the trick, brought the swelling down really quickly.
