my horse has recently moved fields and came in rubbing his nose, head shaking (to the point where you can't ride) and twitching like he had been stung or bitten. he then became quiet and wasn't eating etc. the vet came out on day three and gave him a steriod/allergy jab. he was then moved to a small paddock to get better and he did.
since then he has been moved back in to the field next door to the previous and the symptoms have returned.
the only thing different about the fields are the chestnut trees that are on one side of the field and the other side of the hedge is farmed land.
does anyone have any idea as to what is/could be causing his allergy.
as they fields are on the same farm at my livery yard and haven't been fertlised for over 5 years.
I am at my wits end and don't like my boy to be uncomfortable. any thoughts would be welcome.
