allergy - swollen, runny eyes and cough

She is 17 and has had dust allergy in past but has been ok with soaked hay for a few years. This came out of the blue yesterday. Could it be the pollen or is ot more likely to be hay. I have started feeding haylage. There have been no oher changes to her routine.

Two weeks ago my horse came in from the field with runny eyes, a cough and hives all over his neck which were weeping, the vet gave him steroids which helped, it has reoccurred this week but worse, we will do blood tests to find out whar is causing his but does anybody know how long recovery times are? thanks
