Hi all,
My horse who had recurrent hives in the winter, finally got tested and I got his results back. Main worry is his severe reaction level 4 to alternaria alternata (mould). He has a few mild reaction level 1 to barley, ustilago and two types of flies.
I’m not worried about the mild reactions, but I am worried about the mould. I cannot get him onto an immunotherapy course as they are not available here. So, does anyone have any ideas on how I can manage these levels of mould? He is stabled indoors, however half of his stable is a huge window and the barn has a lot of airflow during the day. What else could I try? As I cannot let him suffer this winter again
Also, does anyone have any good probiotic brands for horses who are bloated as his gut issue is most likely the root of his allergy problem. He has grade 1 squamous ulcers and I am going to be putting him onto a 28day course of Gastogard as well as turmeric and chia seeds brewers yeast and now I need some recommendations for a good probiotic.
Thank you
