Allergy to buttercups.... what symptoms?

I'm starting to think mine's got a problem with buttercups but wondered what symptoms other people's horses have shown with the same problem being suspected?

If you google there are plenty of threads on different forums but generally pink noses--a contact dermatitis

My gelding had problems several years running, he has pink muzzle and lips. First thing I noticed was a slight cough/clearing the throat kind of noise, then he had trouble passing urine. Vet came out and looked at gums and eyelids, very pale and yellow. He confirmed buttercup poisoning was causing all this, and had started to affect the liver. A course of B vitamin injections/powders and gentle work, and he was as right as rain again.

Vet said difficulty passing urine is a common symptom in pigs with buttercup poisoning too.

Mine friends horse gets a mud fever type rash on his heels and legs and his lips appear to peel. Vet said it was due to the buttercups.
