I have just purchased my TB horse a Rambo Flybuster rug, which has the impregnated Pyrethrin. I put it on him for the first time yesterday. He came in from the field with quite a runny eye and a couple of big lumps on him (which I assumed at the time were fly bites). This morning, after being stabled overnight with a summer sheet on, he has a lot of lumps over his body which appears to be an allergic reaction to something. I am assuming this is a reaction to the rug as nothing else in his environment has changed. Having looked at the internet this morning an allergic reaction to Pyrethrin can result in runny eyes and skin lumps.

Has anyone else got any experience of a reaction like this to rugs impregnated with Pyrethrin?

My other TB horse has had one since last year with no ill effects shown
