I am wanting to start my horse on aloe vera juice but am wondering on its palatability. Looking at comments for the human version of the juice, there seems to be a few comments about its taste. Has anyone tried it and if so has your horse / pony reacted to the introduction? I will obviously introduce it slowly but mainly worried about its taste

Its really a mild taste. Ive drunk it and given it to (fussy) horses who never had a problem having it mixed into feed.

The green outer leaf part is bitter. The inner gel part is benign in taste. There *may* be some companies selling the whole leaf juiced, but that is rare in my experience. You would know if the outer leaf had been juiced with it because it would have a greenish colour. All aloe vera juice/gel ive ever bought has been a clear or milky colour. Never green.

Tried syringing it as I was told it was more effective than mixing in feed- pony strongly objected. He will eat it in his feed. Honestly though I'm not sure its helped with his gut problems.
