I haven't been for a couple of years but they have a fair selection of heights but none of it is particularly great. The worst part I think is the water jump which is about as inviting as a sheep dip

If you horse goes in that water it'll go in any. Have fun

i thought it was quite good when i went..

they have quite a good variety!

not much bigger than 3ft i would say, depends what you want to do..

the water isnt that inviting, but i taught my pony to do water there & he hasnt had a problem since, so once you get them in they'll never have problems again lol

whats the smallest height i could do around the course??? and what types of jumps would i expect to see? sorry not done xc before, nor has my pony although we have done rustics out hunting and i have ridden through deep rivers with him!

smallest would be about 18", little log pile. There are some steps, tiger trap, rails, logs, drop fence. It'll be fine if you have never done XC but I wouldn't use it for schooling for a BE event. Are you having a lesson with Nick or Richard, or just going round on your own?

im going round on my own, well with a friend anyway. im totally pooing myself lol. i was hoping to jump around 2ft3 for my first time xc, maybe even 2ft6? luckily i know that i can only jump what i choose to. my main reason for going is to see if my pony will do it and to see if i can.plus it will be a nice day out for him away from the school!

I've just checked out their web page that has a few pictures on it www.alpspark.co.uk Looks like they may have updated a few fences since I was there but the water is the same. They did hold the RC area qualifier once there.

no way will i do a drop fence! lol i already have a habit of not sitting up quick enough after a fence-i'll be on the floor!!! hehe!! couple of questions, how big is the drop(as in how far does it drop down) and how big is the drop into the water??? oh yeah and how high are the steps??? sorry for all these questions!!!!!

The drop fence wasn't huge, they used it in the Novice area qualifier which I think is 75cm max height. I should think the drop was about 2 feet at the most. The water you go straight off the edge which is a railway sleeper and drop in, so you dont have to jump over anything to get in. But its uninviting as it doesnt have a shore line. Steps are about 18" very mini

was there tonight, have regular lessons with nick
