A young rider to ride your horse for say an hour and then pop it around 2 rounds of jumping ?

This young lad rode madam for me for say an hour, He lives not even half a mile up the road from me . I took the mare myself to the training show and warmed up, Just a matter of him jumping on .

So how much would you pay ?

Many thanks

I'd feel pleased to get a ride in the first place, I was asked to ride an ex BSJA pony in some unaffiliated classes because it was too fizzy for the child, they took the pony, paid for the class, got the rosettes that I won, and as soon as I started winning on the pony and got it going, they took the ride away from me. I got no money for riding it, and in some classes it meant I was riding 3-4 horses :O

That wasn't very nice of them

Thats what happens unfortunately when you do things for people to "be nice " .

If I pay someone then it makes it more clear cut on what happens if you get my meaning

Im not really a young rider but I do ride for a few people people. I charge £9 for an hour hacking or £7.50 per half an hour or £13 an hour schooling/jumping or bringing on peoples horses.

I agree with this, I would feel privaliged to ride someone elses horse, maybe let him keep the rosette or prize money?

Laurenn and shrekandfleurevent .... I know what you are saying, He is doing me a favour to be honest and I'd rather I payed him as he is so good with her and there is no " you owe me a favour" kinda thing if you get my meaning .

Laurenn .... I intend to, just been feeling crap lately

I would say if at a sj competition £5 per class, or if schooling £10 for an hour. I would probably say you get the prize money, but maybe let your rider keep the rosette?

I charge £25 per horse which includes my petrol to get to the show and owners keep prize money/ rosettes. If you are getting the horse ready id say £5-10.

Yep, completely depends on how 'young' is a young rider. U18 - probably£5 or £7 depending on his experience. For over 18, probably £10-12.
