*Also In CR* CC Riding Please!

ok here goes:
Your hands are too low and your reins could do with shortening a little as your horse is lolopping along overbent which isnt helped by long reins/low hands.

Everything else re riding is lovely!
Might be well off the mark here but has your horse had his teeth done recently as he seems to tilt his head alot and doesnt seem very happy in the mouth and there is a bit of tail swishing too???

ps..im not being horrible so nobody jump on me please!

ditto the above - you sit really quietly but your hands are a bit all over the place. There is a section where you come across the screen just before your 1st canter transition where your hand is open and almost on your thigh. It also looks like you twinkle twinkle with your rein to bring foxys head in ( like playing the piano if that make sense?) Try using a consistant contact , I don't mean hold on to her ... more give make the contact available and let her find it, ride her into it + squeeze the rein with a closed hand rather than spider fingers.

I hope this helps and I might be wrong but it is what I see .... + have been guilty of these sins myself before myself

I agree totally with above , your seat is good but you dont seam to have a consistant contact as your horse seems to go from one head position of nearly on the floor to quite a high carriage. Close your hands and take up a more positive contact , i would definitely get the teeth checked , just in case.

will call in the dentist when money comes in. it's been a tough few months for us, with loads of vet bills and not enough money, we even had to change livery to keep her out 24/7 because could no longer pay for DIY box livery :\
hopefully the economic downturn will start smiling again..

very helpful advice though, i do play a lot with my hands... having 3 instructors can be crazy sometimes!
and i'm surprised you say my seat is good because one of my instructors thinks its really bad LOL

Lovely riding, lovely horse.
Hands up and together more as your mare seems to either come above the contact or drop behind it.
If you want long and low ride with your hands like this but if you want a more uphill frame bring your hands up and together. You may find it will give her clearer aids :)
Your seat isn't bad, its quiet. I would find one instructor that suits you and stick with it. More then one with different training methods can confuse you.
D :D

instructors come with livery... they dont anymore though so i've recently dropped all of them :)
will get teeth checked out in a month or so, probs in june.
will keep my hands in check as well!!

No cc on the rider, but the horse looks very uncomfortable about something lots of tail swishing and throwing its head about.

Lovely horse and I envy your leg position!!! I would say hands as well, although I appreciate how difficult it can be to keep them still. These are the things I have been advised to work on with my hands:
- relax the elbows. Try shaking them a bit to start off with and then letting them relax so you can always feel the elbow gently touching your ribcage (obviously don't clamp them on, just allow them to drop straight down and they should just about make a contact with your ribcage).
- thumbs on top. This is absolutely invaluable. I used to think it was a bit of a silly detail, but when I get it right it seems to have a huge impact to how the horse reacts in his mouth.
- to keep the hands steady and close together take a whip but hold it in both hands, under your thumbs (this will also keep thumbs on top) as if it were a tray (does that make sense?). If you do that your hands will stay in the right place, very helpful I find.

Finally is this F or am I totally confused (I am frequently confused!!!)?

:( she's not being ridden at the moment (until 7th june) because i have exams so if there is anything bothering her while riding at least she's out 24/7 in a 48hectare grazing land :)

when i do finish exams however will definitely get teeth checked...seems to be a problem that any of you suggest..she's only 6 so maybe still teething or something???

@Booboos: This IS F! can you see how much she's changed? (apart from the CC above but, she can be ridden now! :P )
