Alterations to long leather boots

Hello all, seeking advice please.

I have recently been given a pair of long leather dressage boots (2nd hand and lovely). Unfortunately, the bow tops look a bit too high on me and I wondered whether it is possible to reduce the height of the curved tops without ruining the boots. Has anyone had this done and where should I send/take them?

I had exactly this done to my dressage boots!! They said they couldn't fold the leather at the top over, but they still look great!!

I could do with this doing on my boots. Can you remember roughly how much they charged?

A traditional cobbler can do them and I as a saddler have done them in the past
