Altering Mountain horse Sportive high rider boots

I have a pair in Wide, my legs have shrunk so they are getting baggy and I don't like the feeling they are slipping down. I am thinking of getting one of the elastic bits taken out and the area sewn up.

Has anyone else done this? Its either this or finding someone who has regular ones buts getting fat and wants to do a swap! Cant afford new ones as my current ones wont make more then £30 on ebay cos I do EVERYTHING in them - plus they had an argument with Keratex hoof shine

in theory you should be able to do it. A good cobblers or saddlers should be able to tell you.
