I use easy bed and like heavy wood chips. They don't move and are easy to muck out but price has finally got to me. Are there any cheaper alternatives to easy bed?

Have you heard of ECO comfy bed?

It's what I use, not as fine as EasiBed, but the next best thing IMO :)

Or try cushionbed? Used to use this (same as comfy bed) but then my supplier switched to the comfy bed :)

Google both and shop round for a good price! Most places will offer a discount if you order a certain amount. I used to split a pallet of bedding with a friend! More expensive outlay, but reduced price per bale made it worth it :)

I changed from EasyBed when they put the price up to £7.20 and reduced the wieght from 25kg to 20Kg. I use AllBed which is almost identical, I pay £6 for 23Kg bale. I can only use this as my ponies live out with a shelter and I put a bed down in about a third of it, can't use straw because one of them has a breathing problem and can't use shavings becase if the wind is in the wrong direction they would blow away.

Thanks guys. I had found cushion bed and put a post in new lounge asking if anyone knew of any Cheshire suppliers. I'll google comfy bed now. Thanks!

comfybed is your friend in this situation.

And the person using allbed, comfybed is £6.30 for 25kg bale.

Not a big difference but still works out ever so slightly cheaper :D

Best I have found it Bedsoft Original ... I buy it for £5.40 a bag which is very reasonable for a BIG 20kg bag of it. I only have to use 1 bale per week per horse and both of mine are quite mucky on shavings. It is simply a chopped dust extracted straw but it fluffs up nicely and I am finding it infinitely better value than other options I had tried.
