I swore i wasnt going to post about this, but its bothering me a bit now. My loan horse was formerly ridden in a Myler, but didnt come to me with it. i picked up a nice curved snaffle, with full cheeks and copper inserts...and she hated it. i think it was a bit too "nutcrackery" for her. I tried her in a frnech link snaffle this morning and she went a bit better, but not great.

SO...should I bite the bullet and fork out for a VERY EXPENSIVE Myler, or will she be OK if I put her in a french link full-cheek snaffle?

My YO is having a bit of a nag at me about not changing her bit, but I simply can't afford £70-odd fo a new Myler right now !

If they like the Myler, it's very difficult to find something else for the, I'm afraid.
The good news is, you can pick up one on E-bay for about half the price

Just a word of warning about Mylers on ebay. Somebody at my old yard bought one from there, had all the writing stamped on, myler labels etc. She was riding in the school one day a good year and a half after buying it and suddenly horse bogged off, she pulled back and the bit hit her in the leg. It had snapped in half!! Contacted Myler to be told they couldn't do anything because it was a very good fake!
