Alternative to chippings?

Not being able to get hold of decent chippings is driving me mad, does anyone use hemp or similar, something I can mix into my existing bed.

Ralphs on rubber matting, but I like to have a full bed over the top and not keen to deep litter, any suggestions peeps

I've been looking into bedding. We are trying out Easibed - which so far seems to work quite well. We are using it in our young TBs stable and she's a one horse mixing machine.

We have put some Megazorb under the Easibed as we were advised Easibed is not very absorbant. A lot of people have recommended flax - we didn't go for it as we've heard that some horses eat it (somebody tried Aubiose in the yard and her horse did indeed eat it - although not all horses eat it). Also someone advised that flax and other very absorbant bedding can draw moisture out of the horses feet and thus causing them to crack.

We have only put one bale of Easibed in in a week - we would normally put about 3 bales of chip. It is a very hard wearing bed, stays dry on top and the droppings don't get really mixed in.

I use equisorb and LOVE it. Had no issues what so ever with my horse eating it and its not dried her feet at all either.

Its consistant in its availbility and very absorbant and does go flat and yet is super comfy and doesnt move about much.

Cant reccommend it highly enough.

It smells nice and is very cost effective
