Alternative to Panacur Equine Guard?

Can't get this into my fussy TB, can anyone tell me if there are any other wormers that do exactly the same as the 5 day course, but in a paste?

get a syringe and use that to get it down the throat like a standard wormer

Tried that, no luck! The stuff is too runny...

Panacur also make a paste (although not sure it protects against encysted red worm) otherwise there is Equest.

Normal equest is the same, equest pramox does tapeworm too

mix it with something like angel delight to thicken it up (although I've never had a prob syringing it, but do it in small amounts )

Equest. Panacur 5day brought 2 horses on the yard out in quite bad urticaria. Vet confirmed it was the Panacur-I had to report it to some Equine Drugs/Meds board or other,at the time,for 'records'.

I soak Badminton Fibre Plus nuggets to a mash and can hide all sorts of medication in that... need more nuggets for nastier meds!

Panacur Equine Guard has been proven more effective against encycted small redworm than equest but these 2 are the only ones that treat encycted small redworm.

My vets are strongly advocating use of feacal worm egg counts to guide worming programs. My old boy has only been treated for tapeworm once a year for last few years because he his dropping sample egg counts have always been 0 since 2003 - 3 tests a year. I'm much happier using a glove to grab a ball of poo than shoving medication down his throat. THe fact that I'm helping to reduce the chances of worms developing drug resistant strains is a bonus.
