I normally use this on mane/tail and more importantly legs during the winter as cob gets mud fever/mallenders but I'm reluctant to do this in the summer - not usually a problem in Scotland!

Is there anything else that might have the same effect of clearing the scabs but without the risk of burning the skin in the sun?

Washing seems to aggravate things so that's not an option.

Not the same but i would imagine as protective, Udder cream (with iodine) or sudocrem....Usually udder cream from your farm shop is cheaper than the horse shop! :)

Oh ****!!! I pig oiled my boy today never even thought about him burning!!!! I'm sooo thick sometimes!! Will have to bring him in tomo

What about sudo cream?
