Alternatives to bute

I know this should be in Veterinary but I'm going with the age old excuse that this will get more views here

So ... apart from global herbs ButeX and devils claw are there any other alternatives to bute?? My horse was recently diagnosed with KS, bute has no affect at all, the ButeX has worked better but before I have to make a horrible horrible choice can anybody suggest another supplement I can try (I/A inj not an option)??

Not bute alternative but have you looked into Maxivita Pernamax?
I have used it in the past with good results.
If you google their name they have a great website.

I know you mentioned devils claw but i've had good results with it and theres some pretty potent versions of it about the place. Not sure how it'll work for KS as it works as an antiinflamitory

Danilon - doesn't have any effect. And I'm very reluctant to try Devils claw cos said horse also has a delicate liver

and as its more anti-inflammatory based, I'm a little wary to possibly damage her liver more for a substance that is probably not overly effective for this problem.

Its a shame I can't do for her, as people with sore joints etc do and roll her a big fat joint really!!!!
