Hello!

Having seen the new BD doping update, I'm wondering about supplements. I don't use devil's claw but a number of my friends do (in supplements such as Bute-less and NoBute).

Does anyone know of an alternative supplement which does not involve Devil's Claw, since it's now a controlled substance?

Thanks all :)

I don't compete on my old boy now but he has been on liquid gold supplement for the last couple of month and never felt better. He was needing one bute a day to keep him happy but since being on this he only has a rare bute as a one off and is hacking out feeling so well x

I use Boswellia Serrata, and whilst it does not work in the same way as Devil's Claw, I have been happy with the results.

I use it on my older mare who is now out competing with my daughter, and feel that she just needs something to keep her ticking along :)

Thank you for the responses. I was wondering whether something turmeric-based would be better. I haven't heard of Boswellia Serrata, but that looks like an option. Thanks :)

Turmeric and Boswellia.
My rising 27yo mare has previously needed an occasional bute in the winter months when really damp and cold and in the summer months when the ground is really hard. She's been on these since March this year and hasn't had any bute at all since starting them, even when stuck in with the lousy weather.
