The weather over the last few days has been awful here. The wind has been terrible. I got to the farm yesterday morning to find that all my fencing and the other horses fencing had blown down and broken so all the horses were mixed together

After catching them i found that the top of Inky's ear had been bit off

The vet thinks he's lost about 1cm, which on a small ear is alot. He says the tip will never grow back but its all jagged at the moment. He wants to wait 3 weeks to see how the skin heals but the vet might need to "trim" the edges of his ear if they heal jagged and slit, to prevent them getting caught again and to reduce the risk of the ear ripping. He seems ok in him self but healing vibes need it heals ok and doesnt need any further treatment

Has anyone ever had experience of this before??

Our grey pony has a tear in her ear. It's v-shaped and whilst not huge it is noticeable. I can't say how it healed as she had it when we got her. We think she caught it as a youngster on barbed wire. It doesn't ever cause a problem.
Healing vibes on the way, get well soon inky!

Sally, sending all the very best vibes Inky's way!

I just wanted to say don't be too disheartened about showing because any judges worth their salt do not look at acquired marks.

We had a jumping pony who lost almost half his ear in an accident- never caused him a moment's problem, healed very clean and neat. Looked a bit odd though.
Fingers crossed for the little man.

Oh no, I am so sorry to read this. Sending best healing vibes that it will heal well.
