i never kno what level to describe myself as what would u guys say?? BTW will not be offended if u say novice :P

been riding since i was 6, got my first pony when i was like 12 just push button ride really, met poppy my highland bought her as a mad thing wouldnt even walk on a headcollar, reschooled her myself when i was about 13 no real experience of dealing with naughty ponies

completely transformed her we did all the rideouts i our area jumped at home hacked all the time just had amazing fun. after tht if someones pony was misbehaving i was always given the honor of taking it for a ride lol!!!! rode all sorts of horses and ponies, highlands conemaras, halflingers, TB's etc etc some fast some slow some gd some bad.

however i have never properly competed or anything never even been to a wee show jumping comp, never was available and well never thought poppy would be gd enough to be honest

so what u think??

well it depends,

on a competition/showing front, yup ur a total novice (because u hanvt really done it!)
On the riding front it sounds like you have more experience than what one would class as a "novice" rider (to me that would be someone with basic walk trot canter skills if that!)

so yes and no!

I wouldn't say novice, just leisure rider aka not doing it for competition

I agree with leisure rider as you obviously dont compete and so have not got that experience but you have riden under instruction for a long time and made your own achivements. There are many people out there competing each week but have just bough a point and go horse but their riding would be classed as novice.
