I'm looking for a 14.3-16hh cobby type for loan. Im fed up of looking at adverts now as all the suitable sounding ones are to stay on present yards.
am i after the impossible

Have you tried putting up a wanted ad? When I was searching for a loan horse a year or so ago I couldn't find anything (same problem as you - the suitable ones needed to stay at their yard and that was always hundreds of miles away in my case!) - but I put up a wanted ad on a few sites and had a huge response. Might be worth a try if you havent already. I got the most responses from equine adverts, though horsequest is supposed to be quite good for wanted ads too.
Its probably not the best time of year to be searching for a loan horse, there'll be more around at the end of summer / autumn due to people going away to uni and people not wanting to do all the horrible winter tasks! But saying this, I advertised in spring and got responses then so there will be some out there somewhere. x
