My boy is advertised with H&H classified but had very little interest. One cancelled viewing.... Just wondering if there is something wrong with the advert. Am I allowed to put a link to it on here?

Yes, if it's advertised in H&H you are allowed to put a link to it in your posts and also in your sig.

You can put it on as the ad is on H&H and you have paid for it, it is just the ones on other sites that are not allowed for obvious reasons.

Just some quick thoughts - he's 13.2, he's shown ridden exclusively by an adult. The number of adults who go out to buy 13.2s for themselves is pretty minimal. Can you beg steal or borrow a smallish child who is a nice rider and get some pics of them up as well? If you can also get them to take him to a PC rally or two that would help in the ad. He looks a bit strong jumping, but what a lovely looking pony. He really ought to sell easily. Have you tried advertising him on the PC websites - national and local?

For a start the heading is misleading, he is a M&M, New Forest not a show pony, that will make people glance and move on if looking for a M&M. Is he good in traffic? if so put that it is a high priority for many people. None of the photos are really good enough in the first he looks grumpy and leaning on the hand, otherwise the ad is ok but overall there is enough wrong to see why you have had no interest, it just needs tweaking, if he was a little bigger I have a client that is looking and he could be perfect.

Thank you for taking your time to reply!! I livery on a yard where there are no children. I have only been in the county for a short time so I don't know any nice young riders round here :( I did try advertising him for loan to a PC home so that he could spend some time with children and no interest there either. He's not strong jumping- I'm just rubbish at giving going over a fence! Can you advertise to have a child compete a pony? Do people do that? I'd happily pay a young rider to ride him for me - he's had a 9 and 12 year old ride him with no problems on my last yard but since being here it's just been me.

I take the point about not being a show pony but I had advertised him under the m&m category so his ad comes up if you search that catergory. Regarding advert being poor quality do you mean grainy and unclear?
I'll try and find a non grumpy looking picture! He's not a grumpy pony so I didn't look at the picture and think that- that's his concentration face lol. I might have a cantering picture but it's not side on. That's the only side on picture I think I've got at the moment - he's a bit hairy and mud stained at the moment to be using a current image :( we are like a bog up here!

You need to advertise him as a Mountain and Moorland and get some better photos including a conformation one of him standing side on to the camera without tack.
A child rider would be a big help too and yes you can hire children to ride but make sure they are insured to do so

He looks like a fantastic pony! But I agree his market is likely to be pony club or small adults. Perhaps try advertising him on local Facebook groups (ours are very lively; people always looking and selling) and contacting your local pony club branch?

Check out your local pony clubs and ring up the Secretary or the DC, explain the issue - you have a cracking pony and you wonder whether there's anyone in PC who is looking for something similar or, failing that, whether they would recommend someone who'd like to borrow him for a rally or two in return for having some pictures taken.

Alternatively, if you put your location on here you might find someone will contact you. I'd also put a picture of him in your signature, with a link to his advert.

Thank you all so much!! I will ring Ledbury and I think Monmouth and Herefordshire also have a PC and see what they think.

I'm on the Herefordshire/Gloucestershire borders.

Also price wise - about right? Less?

Id like to see a pic of him stood up, and also another flat work one, if it costs for more pics, drop one of the jumping ones. What about a link to a video of him too?

Too expensive and at 5 too young for many parents-what level is he jumping round at competitions?
Is he 6 now with the 1 Jan past or 5?

He's 5 if you go by his passport- wont be 6 intill May 5th. but if you go for the 1st Jan then he is 6.

He jumped the Hartpury 2'6-2'9 (2'9 in the second round) and went clear.

Also can you put his breeding on? That might make a difference if he came from proven NF bloodlines. There are many fab NF's out there. Perhaps it's the lack of mileage that is a stumbling block for some people.

I hate to say it but I think he is overpriced, if you take a look on facebook for example at all the lovely m&m breeds for sale, there are some really lovely ones going for peanuts. Its such a shame but the market is dire, I've seen 13hh ponies going beautifully even with children priced in the hundreds its shocking.

He is lovely, an honest looking pony.
Firstly to price him at £3000 is psychologically in that £3000 plus bracket. He is potentially worth it but I would keep the figures in the £2000's. Try him at £2750. Difficult market at the moment and also not a good time of year.
I agree with having a smart child/young teen pictured riding him as it will open up a whole new avenue and possibly look at advertising on the pony club websites.
If he is rising 6 then advertise him as 6. Reading the advert at this time of year I would have assumed he was rising 5.
Is it possible to put on a video link to the advert? Older child riding in a school?
Good luck I think if he is suitable for a child then maybe in the Spring you are more likely to get your asking price.
