For context, horse got sheath cleaned two weeks ago and was very clean. I’m ashamed to say I haven’t checked his sheath since, but had a quick glimpse today and saw this red. First thought was that it was blood, but then I looked again and couldn’t tell.

Am I being paranoid or is this something I should be keeping an eye on / calling a vet out for?

Thanks both. Sheath cleaner may have used some kind of detergent I’m told, so that must have caused it. Must do it myself next time.

That looks like the skin is irritated where the smegma has been pulled off it rather than allowed to fall off once softened with a cleanser. It should settle in a couple of days but if not , I'd ask your vet for advice
