Am I Being Petty?

I have my own yard, so don't really have the problems, but I don't really see it as such a big deal if someone uses my fork or brush etc when I'm not using them, as long as they are put back where they were and in the same condition. If they were lost or broken I would be annoyed. We used to have DIY liveries, and one of them always used our tools instead of hers because hers were old and broken. The only reason it bugged me was because we needed them at the same time, and she would always leave them at the stable block she was on, rather than where she got them from in the pony yard, so we had to go and fetch them back too!

Trailing shavings across the yard would bug me though!

But wouldn't it annoy you... That you have been out and bought your own stuff, and they can't be bothered to get their own, or that they think its ok to just use yours without having been given permission? I mean I just totalled it up in my head and with shavings fork, broom, poo scooper, wheel barrow and skip my stuff is worth over £80, and its mine :( does tick me off

No, honestly, I don't think it would. Not if it was something that didn't wear out and if they didn't break it. If it was constantly moved and damaged, yes, that would be annoying. I wouldn't want rug or tack used, but a shovel is just a shovel to me.

Quite unusual for me to not be bothered about something on here!

With the borrowing thing, with me it depends. Although except brushes, tools, skips, barrows etc don't wear out, it annoys me that I've had to invest well over £100 to buy essentials, then someone else uses their money to buy non essentials because they are using mine. Completely different if its short term, or even long term if the persons own have been broken or stolen & they can't afford to replace them. But not if they are just too tight to buy.

To be honest it's become a big bear for me in recent times, I used to be ok about it, but as I said in another thread yesterday it's all centred around my wheelbarrow, which is pink and it was bought girlie pink when I had ebs, for some reason now I'm really precious over that, and its extended out now to cover all my tools, I think Sod's law dictates that someone would break something, and wouldn't own up, and I'd be stuck pissed off without a wheelbarrow having to buy a new one... If you get what I mean.

It would do more than just irritate me. I don't mind sharing at all and will happily lend out stuff but this is a new horse that arrived without warning. Where is the infection control?

Totally get what you mean, and am not criticising anyone who is bothered.. I'm just lucky to have my own place and no issues..
