am i being really thick?

Why the hell can't i change my piccy thing, avatar whatever it's called. every picture i try to use says it's too big so i go and resize it. try to change it, check the box to download, browse, choose resized pic and then it just goes back to where i started!!! someone please help me

i went onto photobucket and resized my pic to80x80 and it worked but i am noo good with doing advatars or anything lol i hope that helps but it might not knowing me lol

it is proberly because the function hasnt been working properly
