Last september I had my 6 year old fantastic gelding pts, I had no choice there was no coming back from his injury, but today I picked up my new horse, now don't get me wrong I do not regret buying her she is beautiful and lovely.

BUT i do feel disloyal to Harvey and have had a little cry about him today, am i the only one who has done this?, should i just look to the future?, but I don't think I can ever forget Harv's and I do still miss him.

I'm sorry if i sound silly, I know I should be grateful to have a horse but i can't help thinking about him today.

No, you're not being silly at all. You did your best by Harvey and now you have moved on. Look to the future and concentrate on your new horse now. You will never forget Harvey I'm sure, but that doesn't mean you should feel guilty about having a new horse.

Not silly at all...I lost my last horse when I was 19/20...it was 10 years before I could have another but I grieved every day...it's not disloyal at all, you can provide a lovely home to another horse and it is right that you should do that, especially at this time when so many people are having to give up the animals they love because they can't afford them

Aw, dont worry about feeling guilty, its only natural. I felt exactly the same when we bought Donovan.
But just think that Harvey is looking down from rainbow bridge, watching out for you.
Would he want you to be without a horse, or would he wish you luck? Would he want you at home without a new baby to look after, or would he tell you to go for it and have fun?
Enjoy your new horse, I am sure its what Harvey would of wished for you.
