Re Pig Oil, sometimes mentioned on this forum, and referred to also as paraffin oil...is that the same as liquid paraffin? Is this stuff flammable? Wanting to mix some up with sulphur and apply as suggested but just want to get the right stuff!

Please excuse my ignorance!

Thanks peeps

Pig oil is a mineral oil (I am pretty sure), i.e. not vegetable oil therefore is probably like liquid parafin which comes from petroleum based origins. Whether they can be substituted I don't know and wouldn't want to experiment with my horse's skin! I do know the sulphur pig oil mix makes my cobs skin very pink and sore so I can't use it on her. Maybe try a bit on yourself first to see if it hurts (only kidding).
