I am selling a well bred colt for £1000 I know the market is slow and some people are not buying horses, do you think the price is realistic?
Sire is section D who has won up to novice level eventing, been SJ,DR the works, got lots of rosettes at affiliated competitions etc. Has sired European medal winning JA pony in Germany, BSJA horses jumping to 1m20+ Intermediate eventers etc.
Dam (graded TB) has produced adv winning dressage daughter, 2 time winning eventing son and county level show winning 3yo.
This colt is 8mths old, very correct, kind, well handled, really nice boy to have around, passported SHB auxilary stud book DNA tested etc.

Sounds reasonable to me....people are still willing to pay for quality in the present market.

However, think you might be falling into the trap of him not being expensive enough - people who have money like thinking they are getting more 'cos they are paying more....just a thought

What height is he likely to mature to and is he worthy of running in as a colt? He sounds like a very commerical little chap and gelding him will open up far more possibilities. Not everyone has the facilities to keep colts or wants the hassle of having to organise a gelding operation. I know when I was looking for a youngster I only viewed fillies, geldings or colt where the owners were about to geld.

Good luck he sounds wonderful and I think the price is spot on, if not a little on the cheap side.

He was sold for £3000 last year but in December due to the personal reasons the girl simply couldn't afford to buy him. I just need him to go to a good home as I have to much work to show or do anything with him. He really is a lovely boy and if he stays entire I would send a TB mare to him. Do you think because he is a colt thats putting people off??
