Have recently been riding my Mum's five year old section D for her - I have ridden him before in the field but that past few days just on hacks. I was surprised to find out that he has no manners at all! Being young I expect him to not quite know his strength but he's generally very ignorant - he doesn't stop when I ask him to (which is obviously dangerous as there are cars about!) and when i do get him to stop he is very naughty, tossing his head and going up on his back legs!
When I hack out with my mum she seems to let him get away with alot and i've tried telling her but she either doesn't do anything or can't handle him :/
Any advice on how to cope with him on our next excursion?

I think it's a bit tricky this, because it seems like it's your Mum who needs a bit of training!

Whatever you do, if it's your Mum who rides/handles him most often, it surely needs to be her who sets the ground rules? If she's encouraging his behaviour, it won't improve. But we Mums don't take very kindly to being told what to do by our offspring. ;)

Good luck with this one! :D
