i booked a horsey clinic lesson (won't mention any names) last week and had booked it all via email - i sent the money off as requested and the weather on the day was brilliant so got the horsey ready and drove to the venue. Turned up but nodody there so after waiting for about 15 mins tried calling instructor who said it had been cancelled 5 days before. Now i don't blame the instructor at all as they didn't organise it but was annoyed nobody bothered to let me know it was cancelled. So i contacted the organiser and advised i had took time off work/it had cost me money to travel over and therefore could we organise some sort of reimbursement?? They have point blank refused and basically inferred it was my fault as i didn't contact them and they didnt have contact details for me. However, the weather was great so had no reason to believe it was cancelled and they never asked for me contact details when it was arranged! Do you think i am being unreasonable for being annoyed???

I think you should be entitled to a refund, they can't blame you for not giving contact details if they never asked for them!
Keep nagging thm!

No I think they are being really unreasonable with you, I would be extremely annoyed, also, surely they had your email address as that was how you booked it - could they have not sent a message that way?

If you make a contract with them (as in booking a lesson) and they don't honour that contract then they have to give you a refund on the lesson at least.
It's not their fault that you took time off work, so I wouldnt expect any sort of reimbursment on that front.

I'd be seriously cheesed off with them and in your shoes I would be naming and shaming so that other people are warned about their attitude!
No, you are not being unreasonable, they had your email address, they should have warned you as a matter of courtesy; I'd have another go at them pointing out the error of their ways; that could be very bad publicity for them!

Hi
I think it is odd that they didn;t have your details, really if they had expected you to ring beforehand then they should have made that clear at the time of booking, I'd feel annoyed too, just don't go to their clinics again, find some elsewhere!

I can't see why they couldn't contact you back via email, so would expect a full refund.
I can see you don't want to be seen as difficult but I would write a polite but strong letter stating your case. How about contacting the trainer direct? Who pocketed your money?
They had your contact details, your email....
