evening everyone. after the devastating time ive had recently i have been offered a mare that is due to foal early june.

mare is of similar breeding to the stallion i used on my mare and stallion is similar size and type of my mare.

my head is still all over the place and really cant think straight at the moment but kind of feels like fate that i should come across this broodmare.

she will never replace willow not by a mile, but im thinking maybe if i had something to look forward to i might cope a bit better?

ive decided to take some time out of riding at the minute as everything will be compared to willow :( ive also decided to sell my little ex racer who i bought to play with while willow was in foal and had foal at foot :(

do you think its a silly idea? i cant talk about willow without crying so thought it a little easier to talk on here. especially after all the kindess everyone has shown these past couple of days xx

It is not silly at all. As long as you can provide for them, then there is no reason not to take them on.

<hugs>

Why cant you dedicate your time to the ex racer, she/he is still around, as you said you cant replace willow but you can put that love to something else, good luck.

It's not a silly idea, if you can look after her then it would give you something to focus on. Hugs.

I'd give yourself a couple of days to think about it, weigh up all the pros and cons of foaling etc and if you still feel its a good idea , go for it.

After everything you have been through, you deserve something to look forward to.

Yes I think you are .
Don't rush into selling the TB though give your self a little time just to be sure it's what you want to do.
Let us know what you decide.

I would say give yourself some time to think it over and if you still feel positive about it in a few days after a few good nights sleeps then go for it! It could be just what you need after all you have gone through.
