Hi all
I bought 2 x rider and horse BE day tickets earlier this year as being near the end of the season i couldnt justify, nor afford to be a full member. My first event, Hatherliegh was cancelled due to bad weather and then my horse decided to go lame a week before Urchinwood. Surprise surprise he became sound couple days after (i swear he puts it on!) and so i entered Pontispool. Found out couple days ago ive been balloted. My boss is only going to 3 more events (bricky, moreton and aldon) and im worried im going to get balloted at these. Am i ever going to get to run on a day ticket!!!!! How does the balloting system work? As in who gets priority and what are the chances of me getting in to any of these events??? Sorry for my rant but i really want to get a few runs in before the end of the season!!!

Home made chocolate cake if you made it this far!

members get priority i think, i got ballot stickers in my members pack and a super ballot sticker for where you've been balloted out before but don't think you get any of thsoe with day tickets. I was told too that if you volunteer it helps. good luck

I reckon you will have more luck at Moreton. They usually take day tickets but make sure your entry gets in early not at the last minute.

I second helping - you can pretty much guarantee an entry if you offer to help on the day you are not riding.

I always try to help on the other day i am not riding. I have not been balloted yet. I got a run at Little Downham next week and they have balloted.

Members always get priority, even if day ticket people offer to help i'm pretty sure. Then part ticket/part member combinations ie your a member and your horse on a ticket then full tickets come last

.

Make sure your entry is in before the ballot date, not closing date. i always thought that the earier the better but i'm assured if its before the ballot it doesnt matter when you enter.

law of averages says you will get in at somepoint

!! I know its frustrating i've been there. Flippin weather makes it more difficult as people are fighting to run at the events that survive!!
