Voice of reason please!!

I'm looking for a 7.5t lorry at the moment, and seem to be caught in between the cheap and cheerfuls and the one's we'd all like, but can't afford!!

I've about £12-15k to spend, and am looking for the following:
Tilt cab
Luton to sleep in
Big enough box (and payload!) to carry a chunky 17.2 warmblood and his less chunky 15.3 girlfriend!
Nice living - toilet, heating etc
External lockers
Some type of power - generator/ 240v hook up etc

I seem to be struggling!!

Anyone have any ideas of places to look? I'd love to be able to spend £20k on a newer lorry, but there must be some about which are just a little bit older and still nice spec? I know I'm perhaps being a bit fussy about what I want, but I still think £15k is a lot of money and would like to have something nice for it (without sounding like a total princess!)

Any suggestions? :-)

Irt probably depends how fussy you are re age/outside condition! I have an Lreg merc that has everytghing on your list except our lving is basic (no toilet/shower etc and just bench seats and a sink/hob really, oh and no cut thru) but that cost me less than half your budget! Friends have an L reg cargo, much posher looking outside with slightly better living than mine and a cut thru (but no tilt) cab and that cost them more than top end of your budget! If you don't mind something older you will prob find something nice say 10 - 15 years old...

No Stick to your guns it's out there but it takes time to find, we did and so did my friend she had your budget ours was 8k, and we bot got fab lorries for our money. It's a buyers market at the moment. Good Luck!

There is a Highbarn on ebay £16500 or best offer its a 1998 looks ok, not sure if its a tilt cab, there have been a few how muches on here for lorrys lately maybe you could try them or H&H on here have a few...

Id look for one without a luton they are much better value!!
you would get everthing you want and on about a 2002or newer chassis..for instance mine is non luton sleeps 4
has shower/ toilet etc not huge floor area but ok and its 2004 merc mine is a diy I did some work myself and needs a bit of finishing off but useable and owes me about 12K.. good luck hope you get fixed up...

We got our last year for under £12K, P reg with luton nicely done out in the living, toilet etc. Carries 2 large horses. It is not a tilt cab though. I am sure though they are out there, just you may pay a bit more and get an older wagon if it has a luton and tilt cab. You could get one non-luton but I do like the ones with lutons and through livings hence why we got ours as it has a great through living. Some are ****!

we did borrow one that wasn't cut through and didn't have a luton and it felt odd to me to not be able to get through to the back. I know you can get some that are cut through.

i guess it depends what is more important to you. What annoys me about some ads for wagons is they show a fancy living etc but the horse area is **** with awful partitions etc. we had ours re-fitted in the horse area as the partitions that were there just weren't to our taste.

Keep hunting, I am sure you will find it. We actually missed out on a W reg at £12K that had everything - we found that on a dealers website as it had been a P/ex. Don't rule out dealers sites.
