Anyone else out there already willing the summer to be over and to be back hunting again?? Whilst I admit the end of season was very welcome for a much needed rest it's time to go again now. Chomping at the bit, roll on September!! 🐴🐴🐶🐶😃😃

Umm, sort of. I'm glad it's daylight for longer now, so I can ride for 3+ hours and that the fields are dry. But part of me does miss the hunting season.

I am enjoying the light evenings and after work hacking but I really miss hunting and am kind of looking forward to the new season!

It is worse because our last few meets were cancelled so I didn't get a last meet of the season as such.

Hound exercise begins for us in mid-July. I'm ready, so this will be my "fix" until Cub hunting starts in mid-Sept.

ours have had an easy couple of months and are just sort of coming back to work more regularly to get them fitter (and slimmer  )

I miss it, and it's obvious that Ron does too. He hates his tack all summer, and as soon as we get to the 1st october he loves it. very odd! Don't get me wrong, it's nice to spend time with them hacking in the sunshine, and not just mucking out, cleaning tack, washing them etc... but hunting is so much more fun than hacking!
