Am I mad??

Yes, why not? One of the Shettys at our yard's just been clipped. He's out today fully enjoying the sunshine in his stubble. If the pony will be more comfortable, go for it. :)

I clipped my Mini Shetland a couple of days ago (had to use cattle blades though), he loved it. Tore off round the field after & had lots of lovely rolls. It does your back in though & fortunately he loves to be clipped as I have to get on my knees. He has a 100g rug, a light rug & a fly sheet if & when needed.

Ha ha i'm really glad someone said this as i've just clipped my shetland - He's only a companion and ridden by my neices so its not like he's shown but i still didn't know if i was commiting a crime lol he's hilarious too he shot out in his field squealing and bucking like yours so at least he appreciated it! lol

Awesome! Thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't completely insane!

I'll get on and clip the little guy tonight! x

I am glad you can get near yours with the clippers - our grotty little madame is having a right strop @ the moment if you get too close to her bottom then you are in for a quick kick ! I am glad some peoples little ones are pleasant & happy

Oh yeah i didn't mention though that it doesn't exactly look professional lol it looks more like he's gone into his stable and rolled on a pair of clippers and escaped before i could finish but to be fair he's 35 inches tall and i'm 5'10 so i think considering he actually looks half ok! lol
