A friend rang up about a horse advertised in the local paper.

First is a 6 yr old TB that has point to pointed. My friend asked how she is to hunt and the owner said 'she didn't no, it has never been'. Umm don't p2pers have to hunt to be able to p2p?

Yes i thought they had to have had a stamped hunt card before they could p2p!.

is it not technically possible to just turn up at the meet and get the card stamped? I thought so but then I believe anything Im told.

Maybe!.Our hunt master wont stamp anything till the end of the day!.Which is a pain if you want to leave early!.

As far as I know they have to do a morning with the hunt and get the card stamped after noon. I know some miss days out and get the hunt to double stamp etc, but not one that has never been.

The rules state that a horse running in PTPs has to hunt 4 times "at the discretion of the hunt master". Most masters would rather just sign the hunt certificate if the horse is a pain or dangerous in the field, than actually make you hunt the horse. I think you'll find quite a lot of pointers these days that have never seen hounds.
